I was so nervous!
Because I can use only easy daily conversations with foreigners, it is hard for me. I don't know the phrase that waitress should use in a restaurant like "May I have your order?"
I was worried about whether they understood my English or not.
But they said "Your English is very good! Don't worry!". So I took a deep breath.

Then, I thought about another experience.
Last year, I went to Los Angeles to study English. I was staying in my host family, Mike and Liz, for three weeks. In their house, I shared a room with Anna, German girl.
She is so smart! And she speaks English very well like native speaker.

While staying in LA, I learned many things that makes me grow.
But I also suffered from many things..
But I also suffered from many things..
I can understand what some one's said but I can't explain my opinion in English.
And sometimes Anna, my roommate, said to me "Why don't you have your opinion? I can't understand you."
Many foreign people say to me "Your English is good", but I don't have a confidence for my English speaking skills.

As a story in my restaurant, if I use English as possible as I can, then they try to understand me.
The important thing is challenging to speak and trying to tell something in English. If my English grammar is wrong, but I must not to worry about it.
I should keep to use English. :)
This summer, from July 31th to August 11th, I plan to go to New York. My best friend's uncle has an apartment in Queens, and she will stay there for 1 month and half. So I'll stay her apartment with another best friend.
We're planning to go shopping, go to Central Park, the Statue of Liberty, WTC, and more!
It's not for study but I want to learn many things again. I'm really looking forward to it. Maybe it will be wonderful trip.

Marina,
返信削除I think this is a wonderful blog entry. The layout is well chosen and you have something great to say.
"And sometimes Anna, my roommate, said to me "Why don't you have your opinion? I can't understand you."
This is a very interesting point, and something which many foreigners level at Japanese speakers. Perhaps because of expectations at high school, and the teaching you experienced, it is not so easy to formulate opinions. But it is important to convey opinions to foreigners, and I know that you do have strong opinions, and a curiosity to learn. So, have a great time in New York and make the most of your time there.
Of course, don't worry about grammatical mistakes!
